None of this surprises me, sadly. It is coming to me in waves now, because no matter how destabilized the world is based on Israel's independence as a democracy, their argument remains: they are a fascist regime that does not act in the same interests of that democracy.
I have to ask why does this argument have any relevance?
That Israel acts as the only democracy in the middle east. It is Israel that have acted as aggressors since its inception on "the right to defend itself". What is it they are against? It is a racial divide between Arabs and the Jewish colonialists. Again, why does Israel have the right to defend itself based on it being a democracy in the Middle East as an affront to that regions religious practices?
If Israel feel they don't have the freedom to be a Jewish settlement, what gives them the right to think they are a democratic state (run) in misusing the same countermeasures which they adopt against Palestinian civilians. Palestinians that were displaced and marginalized as result of Israel's efforts in reinforcing its own self defense against this cause.
The point is this: no one can answer. Why does Israeli sovereignty given more importance than it is for Palestinians. It is a terribly naive way of thinking. Yet, the plausibility is unmistakable. There is no reason for it. There is no reality that speaks to Israel acting on behalf of the world because it is a chosen nation. Israeli identity can coexist with the Palestinians identity on this accord.
