Women in high places

Sydney Sweeney opens up about the criticism of being seen only as a sex symbol. “I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t. So when people think, ‘Ah, she’s a sex symbol,’ or ‘She’s leaning into that,’ I’m like, ‘No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.’ And I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room,” says Sweeney, hinting at the jeans uproar.

The same women of history (if only not owning sexuality) appears as an all-female case theory using heteronormative ethics. We can also assume, in feminist ideology everyone acts as a threat based on fear of losing autonomy. (i.e. mixed identity) Therefore, a traditionalist view of life as opposed to a radicalized view, where if the alpha female is the hero, helps to maneuver through alpha male hegemony.
Unconsciously what we see as a tragic form of one's freedom to choose (e.g. sexuality), we consume if nothing is gained results in misconceptions.
The main cause is simple, nor do you need to be an expert at this idea. That in effect, female's if they use to be supressed in expressing themselves as sexual objects. Today, we are seeing the affront of it. It is a integration of societal norms. This is a fair criticism in which I deviate away from women that dictate their sexuality as a weapon of choice.
We live in a world The moment I refuse to cater to her needs - makes for there being a shallow relationship - stripped of miniature egos. We move down into preservation of inclusion of the species. It is a question of exploitation, such as onlyfans which should not be a mental exercise.
This is where we are in life.

Nelly Furtado announces she has quit music and performing amid ‘body shaming’ comments.
The singer has announced she will no longer perform and release music, after 25 years in the music industry.
“I have decided to step away from performance for the foreseeable future and pursue some other creative and personal endeavours that I feel would better suit this next phase of my life.
I have enjoyed my career immensely, and I still love writing music as I have always seen it as a hobby I was lucky enough to make into a career. I'll identify as a songwriter forever.”
Her announcement comes after a wave of online comments and media articles about her body and weight.

Amber Türke
To be honest, if I were putting my art out there, but all people cared about was my weight, Id leave the business too. Its not being weak, its knowing what your worth, and the public cant handle her worth.

Marco Almeida
Amber Türke It is about morals. I agree. But heteronormative ethics needs a hero. Walking away ain't it. I applaud her no matter what are reasons behind her announcement. Although her actions do not reflect what is true. If it were true that she is being shamed for her body image, it is in my view easy to ignore. Therefore, I don't buy it.

Furtado deserves the best. That's all I can guess why she's had enough. Enough of the sexism she probably feels immune to but can't fathom. Being famous for the right reasons is a hard job. But let's be honest, not only does she deserve better, she leaves on top of her game. At first thought, I could assume Nelly wasn't up to match 7. 7 was a phenomenal album. Continuity seems counter productive if this is why she left. Furtado has special artistic ability that should be shared. Not arrested for it, which is what I think she feels. Though, none of this makes sense to me. I'm impartial because as an artist myself, I am inspired by her very much, super a lot. This only adds to her mystery now.
In conclusion, I understand this maneuvering on her part. (If someone feels they deserve better than they already have. If anyone has mastered this part of life, it's her.) I just can't accept not getting to see her as if she's not into the public eye again.

I am really upset about this development. She doesn't deserve the unfair criticism for her natural appearance. - Marco

Heidi Sarmiento
Marco Almeida I agree with you on that. Too many keyboard warriors instigating, if you ask me. I’m sad about this development. I always backed her up because she is a Portuguese-Canadian artist that writes her own music. To me she is beautiful. Yes her body has gone through transformation but whose body hasn’t as it ages?! People are being/have been too harsh with their comments.

Marco Almeida
Heidi Sarmiento Eloquently put. That's the truth. I am not what I was 15 years ago. It just doesn't add up. She earned her success. Why be driven away by shallow critics. My point is: I know what I am. I base nothing on my appearance to get me places I want to go. To be in my own skin. Her authenticity is what matters.
