the new (improved?) hnic anthem

 October 13, 2008

Is it me, or does Stompin Tom Conners not have a far better song to represent hockey's demi-gods, rather than this abysmal piece of marching music which doesn't remind me of hockey whatsoever.
Maybe - just maybe call again in ten years to re-cast more votes. That's my only solution.

the happening. . .

not a great movie - not bad either. The acting is rather underachieving, but I suppose it suits the plot. The story is about a mysterious chemically laden substance which causes loss of speech, disorientation, which immanently leads to death.

Part of the metaphor becomes a pronounced validation of psychic phenomenon, but cannot be proven as psychic, because if there were such a thing as psychic energy - it has no form. (You are merely in control of it yourself.) Perhaps, that is a metaphysical proposition at best? Therefore, there is no method from which to examine ones own psychic ability. The argument is simple: you begin with a loss of speech (to which end follows), a disorientation of memory which effects you to a final stage. . . death.

I would assume therein the main idea is that of learning through some course of self-awareness or to that extreme explanation of our abstract perceptions, in an absurd yet solitary manner of thinking.

"You decide."
