Random things

 I really feel I want to go back into university studies.  I am at a stage in life where my mind is at its pique. I want to finish a double major.  What should I do.  The U of W is as vibrant as it has ever been.  Man am I serious.

I felt so in my element when I walked back into the environment I once had such a love affair to.

Gretzky/Orr/Lemieux 2- Anyone that says Ovi is only a 'good' player at the very least are absolute morons. 3- How anyone can leave out Lemieux either/or Gretzky from the top three do not know hockey. I give honorable mentions to Rocket Richard, The Big M, LaFleur, Beliveau, Dionne, and yes Larionov who I think is the best Russian born player ever.

I remember this well - it was 1988.  The CBC had been anticipating the 100 meter event to be huge and the media controlled the message to a point that I do not recall has been matched since.  It was unprecedented.  So as a good complacent unsuspecting citizen - I ate it all up and thought Ben Johnson was the next thing to being god related.  When the news broke - it seemed like such a big deal and now it simply does not matter.  I just remember being sucked into the whole thing, and not understanding any real form of it.  I just hate how much it affected my idea of being a champion, but more like a traitor.  The ridiculousness of it is so fucking spoon fed to us, that we eat it all up.  I have learned a great deal since that time.  Ben Johnson is the last guy who should be made an example of when it comes to collusion in sports.  There are far worse than him.

 

If there is anything worse than scandal it is media hype.  This elite version of fantasy, to manipulate and heighten the senses is buried in time.
