There is a certain infallibility to scrutiny once you unlearn from its accusations or melodrama albeit against your better mastery of any particular thing.
However, if that level of scrutiny isn't sincere - only to disguise it wraped into some kind of gift box.
The way to this truth is seeing.
While the search for truth is an endless path.
You mustn't compare youself to others. The real scrutiny you may have to overcome is while your search for it is finite, there are people from all classes that rather concentrate on their suntan.

Repetition of a truth is a lie. Truth cannot be repeated, it cannot be propagated or used. That which can be used and repeated has no life in itself; it is mechanical, static. A dead thing can be used, but not truth. You may kill and deny truth first, and then use it, but it is no longer truth. The propagandists are not concerned with experiencing; they are concerned with the organisation of sensation, religious or political, social or private. The propagandist, religious or secular, cannot be a speaker of truth. —Krishnamurti

==============
What acts as a calming influence in you should be greatly exaggerated; held onto... as opposed to the high maintenance projects we get ourselves caught in that negates the mastery of self preservation. This exaggeration is when the curtain raises on each moment of every thought you carry. Some call upon it being the imagination. Other's might learn to adopt this as a secret life.
