Freud

Maybe Freud is right and the advancement of psychology through its timeline hasn't provided enough effectually as evidence based treatment.  This can mean that conceptually speaking, Freud's model although altogether abandoned, is only isolated as being irrelevant. Perhaps, Freud happens to be outdated as primitive but we return to it as if on a learning curve that of a grandfather clock because it became (albeit falsely) unreliable?  Psychology itself comes full circle if we practice the fundamentals developed by Freudian principles.

(interlocutor)

most contemporary psychoanalytic psychotherapy would be unrecognisable to Freud. So much has changed.

my rebuttal:

July 24th 2025 - hi. To correctly respond with what you've stated... the premise to my own argument is that maybe if the argument made in advancements of psychology to date - whether I can prove they are right or wrong. It doesn't mean that Freud was "right or wrong". It simply displaces the myth of Freudian psychology. That maybe if Freud's models are correctly applied it is something that should be used compared to what might fail. However, "over simplified." - My main argument is to understand that if Freud developed ideas do those ideas have merit? So, the consensus says: no. Maybe it's something about to reestablish if to reexamine the norm.

Edit: I'm a philosophy major in university and apply it to measure my understanding of psychology.
