That's false. I'm not saying it don't understand what Pascal is saying because I do. But I carry my religious flag as a devoted Roman Catholic. I will die in the name of God for he will protect me. That doesn't mean it absolves me from evil. It also doesn't mean religious people are free to commit purgable acts. Religious followers that think they sin in the name of God won't accept responsibility. True religious followers follow a path that is righteous. Therefore, my will pertaining to God will purge earthly sinners. So if there is a God that I surrender to it is not malicious of me to do so. So Pascal is wrong.
I'm roman catholic and I would put my life down for God. That is the basis of my faith in God. I will always fight in the gods name. I will not be suppressed as a political prisoner. To say religion has waged wars is true but the search for God's name has always been the root cause of it. You cannot just say religion has waged war and be done with it... it's not like we went from that to just bagging groceries for a living. You need a focal point.
To understand what I am saying doesn't have to be true to anyone.
I would die if it means defending God's name for Jesus who was nailed to a cross for it.
