my uninhibited self

i'm fed up with george strombolopolous: my (unhidden) contingency analysis (is fair and valid at least. . .)

cbc has decided to air commercials that this guys show begins in sept. Sure, lets say the guy is talented for the sake of it. . . but for those of us that love to hate how crappy he does interviews by asking such brilliant questions are really looking forward to more of it.

I turn 31 in a week.

==========

^What is your view of a first class organization exactly? I suppose it is not a community based tenure, which from your account, Asper has first hand knowledge off the paper trail of bookkeeping.

I'm not so much aware of how complicated most epipheral winnipeg's contingent to Aspers plan actually are. Therefore, let us contain one thing when it comes to pigseye or papazoola's 'ourbombers_like_stand'.

This is a mock-trial version of the present situation:

Bauer wants nothing, that is, nothing more than a sweetheart deal that winnipeg's 'community-owned' citizens will blindly agree to. . . this is possible only because most 'unwilling' to adopt Bauer's master-elite-bomber-we-wanna-be-rider-fans-brain-dead-but-we-will-obey hypnosis (you are getting very_very sleepy. . . ) are people such as pigseye or papazoola. I am strictly using them as examples, because those bomber-elitists that partake on boards such as ourbombers pretend they are "community owners" and degrade any attempts of outsiders as mere outcasts that want our dirty paws on the team. Therefore, you play the victims as pawns right into Bauer's plan for a hand of poker, only you are the cheaters pretending to play the game. What this does is enables Bauer to have a distance between any opposing forces, that holds true to Bauer's vision of a BoD's that work for him in a pyramid scheme. Only, you've adopted the vision as if you are a sanctity to the elite-Bomber-machine moto, "If you're not with us you're against us." - HOW'S that for a "first class" (in your words. . . ) organization.

It is absolutely blasphemous that we are a community owned team, when half of the same group that embodies ourbombers message board completely undermine the meaning behind it. (What assembles a true community owned team is the opposite.) I think I have proven my point of concern for this topic rather articulate, instead of just compliling a bunch of words praising a would-be owner in waiting.

= = == =

Also, this kind of momentum shift in what blind-bomber fans require, is a reality check, based on the dellusional mentality brought upon by Lyle Bauer's infamy of sorts.

First, consider we had a type of agency that oversees the conditions of Bauer's contingency plan to sell the Bombers. This follows that the instant return for a potential buyer is divided: one part is for the owner, to the second part the seller (Bombers) which in all effect is still "community owned". The seller awards such a legal transfer of what the return is based in the same cost that the province pays an equal sum (joe tax-payer).

What this means is that essentially, the Bombers are a community owned team, with Asper at the helm, because legally Asper has allocated a match sum in the amount that the province agreed to lease (matched) cost to build a new stadium.

What we have is this:

Asper takes control of the team 50%+1.
The community retains 49% of all over head costs (...this means the team is in Aspers control, from which asper agreed to match in financing a new stadium). Much of this is similair to True North, that Mark Chipman had Nova Con in order to incur costs to build his Eaton's (MTS center). The fact of the matter is Asper will do exactly the same thing at no cost to him, only profit. That's it. Just PROFITS. Funny how community ownership, has no incentive, but all the power and expertise when it comes to profit motive are excused?

Think about it, now think about how profit motive (Bauer) only undermines a community owned franchise?

Quote:
After watching the woeful coaching duo of Doug Berry and Offensive Coordinator Kit Cartwright go 4-12 since the midseason of 2007, President & CEO Lyle Bauer has stated publicly that he will do absolutely nothing to improve the situation. Instead, he has sat idly by & allowed the Bombers stock value to plummet to the lowest value in the league. The Bombers currently have a 1-6 record, the worst in the CFL.

^This acts as a perfect illustration of what logic follows. That backwards thinking, would not allow a team in such a present state. It is inexcusible. Without mentioning Bauer, the BoD's should be working for a community based team, however, the profit motive acts as a conflict of interest in doing the right thing. Therefore, the problem is Bauer in fact. There is absolutely nothing preventing this from taking place, in which case the BoD's would remove. Again, this isn't the case.

===============

Finally, the sad case is such Bomber-elitist belong in the same smaller-bracket of Saskatchewan Football Mediocrity, which I refuse to support. However, I am in a minority and I accept this.

Tell me, if you were in Asper's position and I were to tell you. . . the lease on a potential new stadium involved? The knowledge of the agreement would include a 25 year term of allocations on the first part to the 'community owned' team, the second part (Asper) is to match dollar-for-dollar every cent to the nearest dollar the value of the team as it increases. (That would be the cost of the team. . .) over a 25 year term. Tell me, what would Asper say??

Yeah, I thought so.

P.S. I invite every bomber-elitist to deny^ everything I wrote here, and sell out to your lord_Bauer.

===================

This thread is rather ominous of the panda-bombers season thus far. . . a well staged trainwreck.

===============

By the end of this season, no grey-cup, no play-offs, then what???

If Bauer were man enough to face the challenges himself, this BoD's would have no trouble in dealing with Bauer as anyone else. Therefore, the issue here isn't one of community ownership, it is Bauer hoping the fans are selling out to Asper wearing a Bomber business suit. If the fans are willing to sell out to a monopoly; we are still a community team with members of such that hardly feel it is worth a BoD's lunch buffet.

If the market in real-estate is turning a profit, and Bauer wants to broker that mortage to a potential investor. . . the fans deserve the first say. The problem is, Bauer is not working for the fans, yet not one person is willing to listen this linear pattern of thinking.

====================
It's hard not to agree with blew's commentary. Once Ryan Dinwiddie replaces Glenn, Glenn is coming in to round out another 4 maybe 5 wins tops. We aren't confusing Glenn with what reality may be left this season.

=====================

Of course not. Why buy it. Again, nobody was blaming Glenn or Cartwright for those losses when they happened. They simply weren't performing well enough. The point here is that Glenn might have good skills at play calling, we just don't know yet.

====================
Yet no one is questioning Glenn's credentials. Your argument is a red herring, we're simply refuting the fallacy. . . that Glenn might have 'good enough' ability (i.e. calling-plays) but it's not a sure thing to win us games or more specifically put us at an advantage. As of now, we're not even arguing Glenn's play calling ability is putting us at any disadvantage.

See. . . nice and open.

So Glenn deserved all the blame when your team was healthy, Cartwright was calling the plays, and you were losing, but he deserves none of the praise when he calls his own plays, the team is injured at several key positions (including receiver), and the Bombers win?

I don't buy it.

The lack of faith is a question you have to deal with. I have faith that Kevin will do as I've predicted and continue to improve at both his playcalling and his personal on field leadership and performance. Time will tell, but I find the game much more enjoyable from my perspective than yours, so I'll just stick with my assertions and let the future give the answers.
Best,
BJ

The jury is still out, but I still think Glenn did a good job calling his own plays in his first outing. He managed to feed Roberts the ball consistently, resulting in Roberts's first breakout game of the season. That's something Cartwright failed to do in every game previous. If Bryant doesn't drop a sure TD catch, Glenn's calls look even better.

Of course, Glenn has a long way to go, and the real test will be how he performs against better teams than the Ti-Cats, but I don't see how anyone can dispute that the playcalling was a positive step both for Glenn and for the team.

Great, now look at what we got for a discussion.

The argument is not whether Glenn had a good, or great, game against Hamilton, I think we all patted him on the back for that one. The point is the bigger picture of how it is being assessed. Quote by billyjimbo....."The great thing is that he's going to get better at it as he continues"; another....."The lack of faith is a question you have to deal with", and another....."but I find the game much more enjoyable from my perspective than yours". You sound like a Leaf fan! Here's a reality check for you, Glenn WAS great, okay? That was a while back, so don't give me that hogwash that he is only going to get better in time, he ran out of that a year ago, about the time he got that stupid windfall of a raise.

I'll get to the bigger picture in a second here but first let me clear up something. I WANT like heck to see this club rattle off five or six wins, advance through the playoffs and win the Grey Cup as I have always wished in the forty-five years that I have followed them. But it simply will not happen with this year's club. You can hack Glenn's .ini file and put him in 'God Mode', and it still will not be enough to send this club over the top. It has too many issues in spite of him.

So enjoy your perspective, have faith, and with any semblance of reason, you will forgive this sad waste of talent called a team as they win possibly two, probably three, and at the MOST four games of their next eight.

Honestly, what are the issues? The D started the season very poorly but has looked much more like their old self in the past few weeks. The offense is starting to find a rhythm and should only get better once go-to guys like Edwards are healthy and Picard gets a few more games under his belt. Lobinda (sp) is doing a stellar job replacing Simpson. Glenn is calling his own plays, negating the ineffective Kit Cartwright. The only issue I can see is the placekicking, but even that should resolve eventually.

You have got to be kidding me. The defence started poor in the beginning of the season and are looking like their old self now? Only twice have they NOT allowed 400 yards in a game, both against Toronto, whom they played their first game with. Let's see, June 27, Toronto, 261 yards. July 4, Montreal, 531 yards. July 11, B.C., 511 yards. July 18, B.C., 529 yards. July 24, Calgary, 427 yards. August 1, Toronto, 314 yards. Aug 8, Montreal, 452 yards. August 14, Hamilton, 415 yards. So which old self do they look like now?

Anyway I love the fact Picard is back, he is a real catalyst of spirit. Lobendahn has been playing stellar, as if he has been fitted for a few years. I think our defense still stinks, our special teams stink, and our offense is, well, offensive. My guess is that the chemistries of the players and the coaches are not compatible, resulting in the players not giving it their all at times. Just a hunch. We need a rat out of the locker-room to let it all out. Or we can send Westwood INTO the locker room to find out!

re; bigblew via discipline/punish

I'd say bigblew's correctly interprets my own feelings about Glenn. (Not putting up words for me. . . ) To clarify what I said for discipline and punish.
===================
What I find curious, is how a person attemtps to justify the term "community ownership" as if it is a negative thing, only that the obvious answer is going private.
====================
You people can thank glenn all you want. Only because Glenn called his own plays, it doesn't mean what's resulted that his game has gone to a higher level.

Our trademark bomba d, can't win without the unsung heros.

I'm just glad they've got Roberts involved on that drive, which he also scored on of course.

hammerbutt is either a fan of the Riders or voted for Al Golden as city council.

If someone could tell me how much we've established, through the possiblity of a hierarchy structured in the connect the dots world of BoD's boardroom? (I suppose hammerbut would wash his hands clean of it.) It is rather ironic of me to say so, in "factuality."

Sometimes, in hammerbut's case what sounds too good to be true, keeps himself from listening. That's fine by me.

==================

The real problem is where the truth lies I'm afraid. Here's the problem (as of right now. . . ) zoo' in my opinion, this isn't about "putting up a fight" because nobody really is. What we're really admitting ourselves to is a post-dated funeral. If you can grasp the logic behind it, if you think about what might be at fault here. Again, we're not necessarily taking a circle reinventing the wheel so to speak. In factuality, there is a critical purpose to this which is hypocrytical of us not to notice the issue. The reality is this. . . if you are willing to separate the Bomber's (which I think you are) based on a mortage that Bauer is the adminstrator of, do you not see a return of profit if you decide to sell your home in the future? (I suppose logic would dictate the better of the answer.)

Now here is where you as an example zoo' (like every other fan) fail to stand on one leg. If you gravitate toward the cause, in this case, Bauer's selling of the potential marketability of the Bomber's as CEO (. . .let us assume this is what we can live with. . .) you've essentially given up your intial right to sell your home at what the cost should be. In the future, if you decide to break the mortage agreement, you cannot - because Bauer somehow managed to con you. The way this factors into a -real time- analogy. . . is that once the target of the mortage payment has been established, Bauer seizes full control of whatever the cost of the home you purchased. (Remember, you bought the house at a wholesale mortage price, the list price, then goes up in the future, but because Bauer said "you only need to pay this much" you agreed in principle that he manages every cent of interest no matter the value of the house by the end of the mortage.)

She's not taking Andre's new job that well.

If I could. . . 11:50pm

have lived my life in Portugal, like I was meant to be born to, I know I'd be the happiest man alive. For some reason, I only live in winnipeg to take back what is rightfully mine in life. This is to say, my experiences of the kind that only I’ve made, that I’ve become, that I’ve given to, are not all done in vain. In spite of what that may mean to most people, my heart belongs in the old country. I've never fully been happy as I could be here, in Canada, where so much opportunity seems only narrow-minded or to a shallow kind of modesty to most people my age.

A lot of the individuals I've grown up with, especially those of Portuguese decent DO NOT impress me in the least. Friendships, are something I value highly in life, but in my heart, I know god has sent me here for a reason. . . though not to execute those that undermine their privilege living in Canada. My purpose is to reverse the alienation I feel, without permitting others to do so in retaliation. It is an example I lead. Many people, I do not speak of as in name, do not hold such high esteem to political beliefs such as I have of. . . I suppose this is what makes me different in many respects. I speak on behalf of myself as that person. I chose to live my life with a quality most people hardly recognize; but I am a fighter to the cause.

Religion plays a very small role in my life, because, what I believe is in my family, my manhood, and my virtue.

I could name those in sequence that have betrayed me in no sense of the word, but why bother. . . this is my personal image, and I fully intend on being a human of the highest order. We are not belittled by those that do not bother to be human. I prefer to live my life with such candor-rally-strategy.

As I turn 31 later this month, all of these things are bridging a gap in my life. But they are not things, they are rational judgments, not to be confused with as mistakes. If I say, I would have loved to live my life in portugal because I would be happier, it is a choice I'd still have to make in reality. However, being educated in this country, and observing the culture for what it is, allows me to undertake in this self-examination of the facts. The truth be told, my main concern, are not of primary interest of many unlike myself. What I write here is all I have witnessed, encompassed throughout much folly. Perhaps, it is an awakening to result in what I truly have become. . . the importance of good vs. evil that I should only benefit from. Perhaps that is the disguise which, so many fail to anoint themselves to or appoint their transgressions under. Perhaps, I am lost in a maze that many find themselves in but choose to make a blind attempt at escaping.

For whatever the reason is, I look forward to my journey home.

Norm taught metaphysics at U of C - kripes. (re; d.pelton) Following up on your appraisal of norm, who is by far one of the more honorable people/instructors I've ever met. I guess that's a good thing. I noticed that norm refers to his baby-girl a lot;it reminds me how he'd mention his daughter during lectures (. . . which should tell you the connection he has.) I'll never forget the lesson he taught: it went something like, "If someone told you he were on fire, and it was so unbearable to put it out, would you." The answer was, "If someone told me you must shoot such-and-such to save your daughter. . ." Norm said, "I would." By far the best moments of my uni.

my birthday wishShare

i am beginning to see myself in a far more favorable light then most people my age. A lot of things have changed in the course of myself as a person, that I find stranger, is many people who I believed were somewhat farmiliar are now no longer viable to me as I see. Throughout this transition in life, you realize how much emphasis is placed on superficial or impartial things such as image. In reality, my thoughts about much of the different people who helped 'change' me are now very distant memories that mean very little.

I suppose my birthday is a self-proclimation of sorts, that if they could see me now, they still wouldn't know the difference. . . I know what they've missed.

I simply wish to improve on that. It's a pretty good indication of what may come.
