The thing I do not understand about trendy actors today is that everyone thinks they can act when they really can't. If you can't theorize about acting you are probably acting a lie as in pretending to act.
I was looking at myself this week and put on my thinking cap after a Fringe show I attended.
The theory is simple. How do you know a person? How do you know that an actor is in fact acting the truth. If so - does your prior image of this person if you knew them also translate into acting their truth. That the person you swear you know has a mask but in reality you can see them for who they are.
If you never saw a person in the way they normally act how do you know if the character they are portraying is organic.
Therein lay the dilemma.
Is it faith.
Is it truth.
Is it a mask.
If you or I implored someone so completely that their actions were carbon copies of what you know how they behave, it is not a question of psychology, it is an expectation in character. And that those inhibitions actually match how you interpret those actions because you know them so well. The way this proposition sounds should make sense to you, although you were made a fool because of it. The awareness stems directly from being purged of what you witness. When you see a person compromising their position of humanity in order to purge you into believing they are something else, your ability to scrutinize is unbecoming of yourself and not the actor.
The criticism is fake.
